Biography of Fran McLean

 

Fran was born in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, New York. She presently lives in New Port Richey, Florida.

She began her art career while living in Boynton Beach, Florida, taking lessons and workshops from well established local artists. She also volunteered her artistic talents to the Delray Beach Community Theater, where with the art director, painted all the back drops for every play for three years.

She moved to Melbourne (Eau Gallie) Florida in 1989. She became a member of the Art and Antique Studio Gallery, Strawbridge Art League, Brevard Cultural Allaince and other local art organizations. She opened her home studio and began teaching.

Fran moved to New Port Richey, Florida, in 2009 and became a member of the New Port Richey Gallery, Dunedin Fine Art Center, and The Tarpon Springs Art Association. In January of 2011 she became a faculty member of the Dunedin Fine Art Center to teach oil painting. That same year she also became a student of intaglio etching.

Art festivals and workshops are also a part of her career as an artist and volunteering to paint wooden toys for the Toymakers organization.
